Everyone is always looking for that next big thing, whether it’s a pretty new style of clothing, the latest in hair cut trends and even technology. The craft world is no different. Many craft publishers, fabric designers and authors go to events fashion shows or read technology blogs to get an idea what that next big thing is. Well, in the craft world, we think we found it.
We predict the next big thing will be craft books and matching products by Eline Pellinkhof. Her first book, Stitch and Sew Home publishing by David & Charles this August features pretty Scandinavian inspired projects in sewing, papercrafts, crochet and even cross stitch. Many of the projects from Eline’s Stitch and Sew Home are just as the title implies, for the home, which we love! What is really great is that not only has Eline created beautifully photographed and inspirational projects but she has also designed the products to go with it. As Eline says, the book and products will prove inspirational for anyone who is like her, a fan of contemporary and vintage designs, of roses and embroidery, fabric and paper.
Eline Pellinkof products designed in association with her latest title Stitch and Sew Home. She has designed a patterned fabric especially for this book. To solve the problem of small craft shop space. The fabric comes pre packaged by the metre. Each metre of fabric is 140cm wide and features nine different patterns with various borders, which complement each other perfectly. You have everything you need in the one metre.
The fabric comes in three colour combinations:
Roses (neutral): pink, red and grey hues
Meadow (bright): pink, red, blue and grass green hues
Vintage: pink, light blue and beige hues. She also used a lot of natural linen.
She has also put together a small collection of ribbons and lace: two white cotton lace trims, a white twilled ribbon featuring old-fashioned text, pink roses on a beige background, and a dark red ribbon with white polka dots and white picot border. Eline also had her heart set on using old-fashioned mother -of-pearl buttons in the collection just like those from grandma’s button tins. They go perfectly with a wide range of styles and colours.
Our favourite product from this line are the vintage stamps, specifically the cross stitch patterns and postmarks! We predicted old fashioned cross stitch samplers would be trendy, and here is the proof.
